Homemade self-tanning spray and lotion

I found interesting recipes - homemade self-tanning spray and lotion. I treat self-tanning as a little adventure. Self-tanning recipes are too simple and tempting not to try, and after looking through about 40 recipes, I settled on two methods that work better than the rest.

Self-tanning with tea. The first most popular is black tea. Brew 4 tea bags in 2 cups of boiling water and irrigate the skin. Tea self-tanning works and does not leave stains on clothes, but this procedure is very long and dries out the skin.

Self tanning with cocoa. Most recipes involve cocoa powder and any body lotion. For 50 grams of lotion, 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder.

These two methods are not entirely successful in themselves, but they make an excellent self-tanning spray do-it-yourself self-tanning spray

DIY self-tanning spray

  • 4 bags of black tea
  • 1.5 stack. boiling water
  • 50 grams of jojoba oil (jojoba oil is not comedogenic, good for oily skin. But you can take any base oil. I don’t recommend olive oil, it is too thick and takes a long time to be absorbed)
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp of any body lotion
  • a few drops of essential oil (vanilla, coffee, cinnamon - anything that goes well with cocoa.)

Pour boiling water over the tea bags and let steep for 15-20 minutes. Combine all ingredients in a resealable container and mix thoroughly, shaking. Pour into a spray bottle. Shake the spray bottle before and during each use.

Use after shower, use body peeling. It is advisable to do self-tanning in the bathroom, behind the shower curtain))) Microdroplets color not only the skin well. Irrigate the skin in small areas, rubbing the lotion. If desired, can be used on the face. You should wash your hands immediately. Allow the lotion to dry completely and apply another layer if necessary.

Because of the oil, the spray does not absorb as quickly as commercial self-tanners. Although, to be fair, the self-tanners I’ve tried were sticky and smelled terrible - nothing like this homemade lotion. The skin simply glows, silky, with a creamy tint - no carrot tone. The lotion is washed off easily and without streaks.

The tone is very natural, unlike the shades of factory self-tanners. For the first warm days and short shorts - a great solution if your skin is almost transparent, like mine…
