Epilation sugaring at home

I would like to discuss sugar hair removal - sugaring at home. In my opinion, this is the most pleasant and simplest type of home hair removal, one of my favorites. Sugaring has an undeniable advantage over depilatory creams and wax - the ingredients cost a penny, are washed off with water, everything is natural. sugar hair removal

Paste for sugaring. Recipe

All recipes boil down to one thing - sugar and lemon juice, with minor variations. I managed to cook exactly this recipe the first time, so I don’t deviate from it. It is advisable to maintain the proportions, and the weight of the ingredients can be varied as needed:

  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 50 grams of sugar
  • 50 grams of water
  • Juice of half a lemon

Mix sugar and water in a bowl, put on fire, stirring constantly. Bring to an amber color, add honey and lemon juice. Continue stirring. Bring until dark amber and remove from heat. Pour the mixture onto a flat plate so that the sugaring paste cools faster. If the sugaring has cooled down too much and hardened, you can warm it up in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. Can be stored for up to 2 months.

Below there are a couple of good videos with the preparation of sugar paste and recommendations on how to do sugaring:

How to do sugaring at home

  • While showering, use scrub .
  • After a shower, apply a little baby powder or starch to your skin - this will make it easier for the paste to catch hairs.
  • A portion of paste can be used many times by applying and distributing the same piece, moving on.
  • To use the paste on the face, cook it for less time so that it is easy to apply with a spatula.
  • Place a strip of fabric on top of the paste and sharply remove it in/against the direction of hair growth (there are experts who advise removing hair in the direction of hair growth to avoid ingrown hairs. Above the lip, it is more convenient to do this simply from right to left).
  • If you accidentally touched a larger area than you wanted to remove, then simply wash off the area with water - this will not happen with wax.
  • Hair should be 4-5 mm in “difficult” places with coarser hair - legs, bikini, armpits. There is no need to “grow” facial hair, as it is thinner and easier to remove.

Fast and successful hair removal requires a little practice, but sugaring, in my opinion, is an easier and more gentle way to remove unwanted hair. The procedure is not very pleasant, but much less painful than plucking with a depilator. The appearance of ingrown hairs is close to zero.

After hair removal, it is advisable to moisturize and soothe the skin with homemade lotion .
