Do-it-yourself cosmetics. Lip gloss
Making your own cosmetics is interesting and easy, but the main advantage of home remedies is their impeccable composition. You know every ingredient and can experiment with everything. Most home care products have a simple base of the same ingredients - coconut oil, Shea butter, base vegetable oil, beeswax, essential oils, vegetable glycerin. Homemade lip gloss is no exception in the simplicity of its composition.
Since I already have a minimum set of ingredients, I decided to take full advantage of them - I found several simple recipes for lip balm-gloss. I liked it! They do not roll down, do not stick, there is no chemical taste or sore throat from using natural gloss.
Let’s start with an unusual recipe using natural non-toxic wax crayons!
Lip gloss with wax crayons
I want to make a reservation right away - you need Crayon or Crayola crayons, “for the little ones,” or other high-quality crayons whose manufacturer you trust. The pigments in such crayons are not toxic even if swallowed by children, so they can be safely used as a safe dye.
We will need:
- 2 tsp unrefined coconut oil.
- A small piece of wax crayon of any shade you like, or several different ones for the desired effect.
- Storage jar.
Melt the coconut oil in a steam bath, add crayons and stir until the wax dissolves. While still hot, pour the mixture into a jar and place in the freezer for a couple of minutes.
This gloss is not harmful to health and looks very pretty on the lips. An alternative to crayons can be a piece of your favorite lipstick from the bottom of the bottle, from the leftovers. You can experiment with food coloring and baking glitter, but I haven’t come across “food pearls” on sale yet.
