The best DIY foot cream
Many people save their legs from fatigue by simply throwing them higher at the end of the day. This is a good way to recover, but there is something better - homemade foot cream. Make the best DIY foot cream and experience a different quality of life (I’m completely serious).
Foot cream with mint
- 30 grams of Shea butter (Karite)
- 30 grams of unrefined coconut oil
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp mint extract ( how to prepare it )
In previous articles I wrote about Shea and coconut butter. These plant-based moisturizing oils can even be used in their pure form. The price of unrefined oils is the same as that of the average ready-made skin care product, but without parabens, lauryl sulfates, petroleum products and water with emulsifiers.
How to cook:
- Melt Shea and coconut in a steam bath. oil.
- Add olive oil and let cool to room temperature (if it’s cool at home, don’t let it harden).
- Add mint oil.
- Beat with a blender or mixer; a hand-held mini mixer for cocktails is very useful for homemade cosmetics. Beating lasts no longer than 3-5 minutes.
- Store at room temperature.
- You don’t have to whip the cream, then it will have a “vaseline” structure, as in the photo above. You can add essential oils to the cream to suit your taste. Great for heels.
Summer foot cream
An excellent cream for dry skin on feet. Suitable for foot and heel care.
- 50 grams of almond or sesame oil (this can also be olive oil)
- 100 grams of coconut or Shea butter
- 1 tsp vitamin E (can be from ampoules or capsules. Ampoules are available in veterinary pharmacies)
- 2 tbsp grated beeswax
- 30 grams of pure water (distilled or filter-boiling)
- 5 drops of lavender essential oil or homemade lavender extract (prepared like mint extract)
How to cook:
- Melt the wax and oils using steam or just gas.
- In a separate container, heat water to a boil.
- Add water to the melted mixture, stirring constantly.
- Add essential oil.
- Transfer the cream into a sterilized container with a lid. Stir the mixture until it cools completely. In order for the cream to have the consistency as in the photo, it needs to be whipped for 3-5 minutes. In this case, there is less chance that the cream will separate, although it contains wax, which naturally emulsifies.
Homemade beauty products based on coconut oil or Shea butter are much better than ANY commercial cream or lotion. Oils are especially effective for treating eczema and inflammation.
