Christmas tree toys made from natural material 6 MK
Surely in kindergarten your kids are already making Christmas tree decorations from natural materials. I have translated several interesting master classes with New Year’s toys made from natural materials, so that during the Christmas holidays you can make them together and decorate the Christmas tree.
Christmas tree toy made from Deer pine cones
A very simple Christmas tree toy made of pine cones for the little ones
- Cones
- Tapes
- Felt or scraps of fabric
- Ready-made eyes or buttons, beads
- Decorative wire
- Pom-pom noses
- Glue gun (the author of MK uses glue in a tube)
Cut the ribbon on which we will hang the toys. Glue the cones to the butt.
Horns can be made from decorative wire, which is sold in any craft store, but you can also cut them out of colored cardboard and use twigs
Cut out deer ears from fabric or felt, glue them as shown in the photo
Glue on the noses and eyes. Each deer made from cones has its own individuality and character, and is made quickly and easily (which is very important for restless kids).
New Year’s toy made of pine cones with pompoms or rhinestones
This New Year’s decoration made from natural materials is elegant, spectacular and at the same time simple to make.
- Cones
- Ready-made pompoms or wool for felting in different colors
- Decorative twine, ribbons
- Glue gun
If you don’t have pom-poms in your nearest store, you can wet felt them from a ball of wool. I had experience creating small pompoms for knitted Christmas trees from wool and acrylic threads - I simply wound a “ball” of thread of the desired color onto a bead.
Glue a ribbon or twine to the base of the cone.
Glue pompoms to the petals of the cone.
The author of the master class offered two options - densely “stuff” the cone with balls without glue, or glue the pompom to the petal with the frequency that suits you.
When making such toys with children, you can at the same time repeat colors (or learn colors in foreign languages), add and subtract pom-poms. In my opinion, such a cone is a stylish decoration. Cones decorated with self-adhesive rhinestones or beads attached to silicone hot glue will be no less beautiful. For the little ones, you can apply glue in advance in the right places and invite the child to attach a bead - development of fine motor skills
Bird for the Christmas tree made of pine cones and artificial flowers and feathers
Perhaps you still have artificial bouquets that were fashionable fifteen years ago in your bins and were a pity to throw away. Their time has come! A brilliant idea for a bird to make a Christmas decoration made from pine cones with a chic floral tail.
- Artificial flowers
- Cones
- Eyes or beads, buttons
- Felt or cardboard
- Glue gun
- PVA glue
Flowers must be disassembled and removed from the “inflorescence” or stem.
The more varied the petals are, the more colorful the bird will be. Iron out the petals. Try different combinations of parts and shapes.
Having decided on your choice, cut the collected flower in half. Glue the resulting tail.
Glue the tail between the petals of the cone.
Cut out a bird’s head from felt or cardboard and glue on the eyes. The nose in this case is made from the petal of one of the flowers. Glue the head between the petals of the pine cone.
The same can be done with feathers.
Christmas tree angels made of cork
- Wine corks
- Wooden blank balls for the angel’s head or small balls of thread
- Tapes
- Colored paper
An inspiring idea that can be used as the basis for your Christmas tree decorations made from natural materials. Instead of wooden blanks, I would take a thread with lurex and wrap it around a bead; angel wings can be made from feathers. The wine cork can be replaced with a long fir cone. Very detailed photo master class.
Owl and deer made of walnut
Let’s start with the owl. Another idea is the basis for a Christmas tree toy made from natural material. It is not necessary to draw eyes; you can glue buttons, beads, or ready-made eyes. In this MK, please pay attention to the unusual attachment of the decoration to the Christmas tree. Description of the process in the photo.
- Walnuts
- Brown and green felt
- Decorative wire
- Glue gun
- Pompoms
The deer is made from an empty nut shell. Cut out the outline of a deer’s head and antlers from cardboard or felt, and glue them between the halves of the shell. Glue a pompom nose, eyes, and make a ribbon bow. Don’t forget to glue the loop in.
Christmas tree toy made of walnut
An idea for a Christmas tree toy made from natural material with great creative potential. Just by looking at these nuts, a sea of decorative possibilities is born in your head. No matter how simple this idea may seem, a real masterpiece can turn out from a walnut - it all depends on how much time and additional materials you are willing to spend on its “second life”. You can start with the simplest elements that the smallest ones can do, and you won’t even notice how captivated you are by this task!
First of all, you need to thoroughly wash the shell. It is not necessary to free the shell from the core, but if you plan to keep the decoration for a couple of seasons, then it is better to try to avoid the attack of worms on the core. The core was left in this MK. This is the simplest version of a walnut Christmas tree decoration.
Place the nut on a toothpick and open it with acrylic paint, let it dry.
If you have spray varnish, spray the nuts with it to set the paint. This procedure will help preserve the nut kernel and prevent the appearance of bugs in it. I use car polish, but there are plenty of unscented alternatives now. Make a bow from a rope or satin ribbon and glue it with hot glue
Glue snowflakes or rhinestones onto both halves of the shell! -materialov-5.jpg)
But here’s a more labor-intensive idea: a small cone is disassembled into petals, which in the form of scales are glued to a nut or other base.
