DIY spice rack
How do you store spices? Maybe in bags held together with clothespins? Maybe you pour it into different jars and bottles, and then forget what’s in them? But storing spices can not only be convenient and functional, but also become a decorative item in your kitchen, a real highlight. This is the DIY spice rack I have:
My spice rack is made from chipboard, onto which bamboo wallpaper is glued (remnants from cutting the facades for the hallway). The ends are covered with bamboo slats from blinds; they can be replaced with a bamboo sushi napkin. Handles made from wine corks.
- Bamboo wallpaper covering the chipboard shelves.
- Cork wallpaper. These can be used to decorate lids.
- A sushi mat, the chopsticks of which can be used to cover the ends of the shelf.
The shelf is simple - both in appearance and in design.
- More detailed photo of the shelf doors. The handles were glued and the doors were attached to small nails.
Spice jars
I managed to purchase 3 types of containers, and I decided to combine them with a common lid decor. The lids were covered with cork wallpaper 2 mm thick, with rubber glue. Over time, the cork decor has shrinked slightly, so it makes sense to leave an allowance of 2 mm along the edge of the lids. I cut out the signatures on the jars from spice bags and attached them with tape. If you have the opportunity and desire to print beautiful labels on self-adhesive paper, it will work out much better.
These are the spice jars I used.

It is quite possible to bring any of these ideas to life. You can use leftovers from construction work, disassemble wooden boxes, use buttons and stoppers for door handles. Every kitchen has a little space for such a cozy and useful detail as a spice rack.
