Very soon the time to prepare for the Christmas holidays will begin. Before your supply of natural materials runs out, it’s time to make a snowman out of cones with your kids.
Craft a snowman from pine cones
We will need:
- Cones for the body.
- For the head, you can use several materials: ready-made papier-mâché balls, hollow inside and weightless; polymer clay; plasticine; small Christmas decorations balls; foam balls.
- Cardboard, colored cardboard.
- For the nose, you can use a wooden sliver, polymer clay or a small nail on which you can stick orange plasticine and a toothpick.
- Felt pen.
- Glue, preferably a hot glue gun.
- For the “hands” of the snowman, you can use natural twigs. This master class includes decorative wire.

Prepare all materials. The tips of the petals of the cones can be painted with white gouache or glued with a little cotton wool. The balls in the photo are purchased papier-mâché blanks.
Making a hat. In this case, toilet paper rolls and colored cardboard are used. We fix the cylinders with hot glue. At the stage of gluing the “top” of the hat, you need to make a fastening if you use the snowman as a Christmas tree decoration.
We make a “carrot” for the snowman from cones, attach the head to the body using hot glue. If you have a plasticine head, then you should put it on a wire.

We will need:
- Toothpicks.
- Ice cream sticks from which we will make skis.
- Cones.
- For the head, you can use pompoms, plasticine, foam blanks or papier-mâché.
- Acrylic paints for decoration, snowflakes, eyes, wire for hands.
- Glue, scissors.
Paint toothpicks to make ski poles. Place snowflakes or buttons on the ends. Skis in this case were made from decorative fencing for other crafts.
Attach the snowman’s arms. The photo shows brush wire, which is very convenient to work with. Glue the ski poles. Assemble the details of the snowman’s head: glue on the eyes, nose, make a hat to your taste.
