Felted sheep, crocheted sheep
New Year’s celebrations are just around the corner, but it’s not too late to make cozy gifts for your loved ones with your own hands. The most popular souvenir this season is felted sheep. I want to share with you the idea of creating crocheted and felted sheep. All these sheep are first attempts at felting. I had cat and dog hair, on which I tried the needle for the first time.
Crocheted sheep with a felted face
I haven’t had the opportunity to work with merino or carded wool yet, but dog hair is real magic! There is no such energy in any dyed thread or fiber. Here and there, indomitable fibers during felting created a unique character for each sheep, and despite the imperfect “flexibility” of the wool, it was very pleasant to work with it.
The cat’s fur had a lot of fluff in it, which matted perfectly. Thanks to the barely noticeable “melange”, if one can say so about the color of the cat, the sheep’s faces look very natural, in my opinion.
Sheep made of dog hair in a knitted fur coat
Sheep fur coats are crocheted. Gray sheep from Kartopu Anakuzusu baby terry. Yarn is difficult to work with, but worth it. The white sheep is knitted from natural wool with elongated loops. Stuffed with silicone balls.
A sheep in a hat with earflaps is crocheted down to the ears and tail. It was made from natural wool and padding polyester. Sheep are quite labor-intensive - the simplest one takes about 8 hours. These sheep can be purchased in my designer store Janecraft .
Perhaps my tiny herd will give someone a little inspiration.
