Coffee scrub for stretch marks
An alternative to surgery and chemical peeling is a coffee scrub for stretch marks. Stretch marks appear on the skin after pregnancy, with rapid weight gain or loss. Often, we try to get rid of them after the fact, rather than avoid their occurrence. It would be great if, from childhood, I drank enough water, used moisturizing lotions and spent less time studying - then, perhaps, I would not gain weight by sitting for hours at a time reading books. Here I can only blame myself. How can you protect yourself from stretch marks before pregnancy? The elasticity and tone of the skin are influenced by heredity, so you can talk endlessly about prevention, but stretch marks still appear.
The main difficulty in removing stretch marks is that damage occurs in the middle (reticular) layer of the skin. Most cosmetic procedures work only in the first weeks and months after the appearance of stretch marks, and their complete “destruction” can only be achieved by laser and deep chemical peeling. These procedures, in turn, leave their own “special effects” on the skin.
I can’t say that I was deeply concerned about this problem. I stopped paying attention to my stretch marks a long time ago, until now - I’ve been doing yoga for a year and watching my diet, I’ve lost a lot of weight, but my skin can’t keep up with the new weight… Old stretch marks have become very noticeable, the skin has lost its former elasticity. So I decided to read how you can help yourself without laser and chemical peeling
Coffee-olive scrub
- 1 stack. wet coffee grounds. The coffee should not float in the water, but should be well moistened. The grind is medium, not dusty.
- 2\3 cups olive oil. The consistency should be pasty.
Two simple, everyday ingredients and a little patience. Coffee take any coffee - dry, freshly ground, from a coffee machine or Turkish coffee. Caffeine is perfectly absorbed transdermally and stimulates blood flow and warms up. Coffee oil molecules bind to a water molecule and transport it to the deep layers of the skin, naturally moisturizing. No chemicals in the form of synthetic emulsifiers. In addition, coffee grains exfoliate well and gently, preparing the skin for the following procedures.
Olive oil works in tandem with coffee as a lubricant and an additional source of vitamin E. It is olive oil that works well in scrubs, since we mechanically affect the skin and sometimes create microtraumas, dry it out, and o.m. works well to restore damaged cells and as a mild antiseptic. If for some reason olive oil is not your choice, use any base oil: Jojoba, grape seed, wheat germ, almond.
Preparation:
- Mix the ingredients thoroughly in a bowl until the oil becomes a white emulsion when mixed with water. I do this with an immersion hand-held cocktail mixer (very useful if you make your own skincare products).
- The paste does not separate over time if it is mixed thoroughly.
- Since the mixture contains water and organic matter in addition to oil, the scrub should be stored in the refrigerator. But I usually use 3 procedures, 1 - 1.5 weeks.
Application:
After taking a shower, apply the scrub to damp, steamed skin with massaging circular movements, continue the massage for 3-5 minutes. We work on the stretched area more carefully, but try not to injure the skin. Leave the mixture on the skin for about 15-20 minutes, rinse with warm water. We enjoy the aroma and soft, warmed skin prepared for cream or lotion.
I would like to draw your attention to lavender , as the main “fighter” against stretch marks. I’ve written so many articles about her - I love her! Lavender essential oil, decoctions, and homemade extracts - any remedy with lavender works well for stretch marks. Enrich any homemade lotion recipe with a few drops of lavender essential oil and it will work to regenerate the skin. Several recommendations for the use and preparation of products with lavender here .
I have been using the recipe described above for 2 months. The stretch marks remained where they were, but the overall skin tone became much better: the body contour became “smoother,” cellulite disappeared, the crease in the lower abdomen disappeared, the skin on the arms and under the shoulder blades tightened (my husband helps with back chafing :)). This is due to the purely external effects of the scrub. Against the general background of well-feeling skin, the stretch marks have clearly smoothed out. I am very pleased!
I don’t use coffee scrubs on my face because the pores are too large - the fine grind just stays in the pores. But this is purely individual. Scrub with bran and fiber suits me better.
