Salt or sugar. Which scrub is right for you?

Salt and sugar can be used as a scrub. Spas use salt and sugar scrubs for a reason. Salt and sugar are natural exfoliants (simply put, they naturally exfoliate), and in addition to leaving skin feeling smooth and soft after treatment, it opens pores to flush out toxins, sweat and bacteria. scrub with sugar

Scrubs with salt or sugar are very easy to make at home, while receiving real professional skin care. What’s the difference between salt and sugar? What to use and when?

We’re used to light exfoliating scrubs made from apricot kernels or walnut shells, and they really work. However, if you want to take your skin care to the next level and make your skin glow, then a salt and sugar scrub base is exactly what you need. Salt and sugar have a mild abrasive effect, gradually dissolving, which prevents them from injuring the skin with crystals.

Salt scrubs

In addition to peeling, with the help of salt you saturate the skin with magnesium and other minerals that are perfectly absorbed transdermally. Salt for scrubs should be sea salt, or Himalayan pink or other mineral-enriched salt - table rock salt is not suitable. Thanks to the magnesium in the salt, a simple peeling procedure can relieve muscle pain, cramps and even migraines. I wrote more than one article about magnesium - my favorite mineral, thanks to which migraines stopped . In addition to being rich in minerals, salt has an antiseptic property - masks with salt control the sebaceous glands and treat acne (tested on myself). coffee scrub with salt

Salt is ideal for cleaning heels, elbows, and knees. For the face, it is better to grind large salt crystals in a mortar or coffee grinder to injure the skin as little as possible. Salt dries out quite a lot, so it is advisable to make scrubs with salt on a fatty basis, or use lotions after the procedure.

Sugar scrubs

Any sugar is suitable for scrubs. Its task is more mechanical than therapeutic. Sugar makes soft scrubs for the most sensitive areas of the skin; its crystals melt faster and do not injure at all. Strawberry scrub

After using sugar peeling, the skin remains moisturized. Ideal for dry type. In the previous article, I drew attention to the fact that sugar is not entirely suitable for skin prone to inflammation and acne. Staphylococcus, which multiplies in pores and sebaceous ducts and is the main cause of acne, loves glucose and carbohydrates. Especially when they are directly absorbed through the skin. For my face, I don’t use sugar scrubs - only salt scrubs or scrubs with bran and fiber . But if your skin is dry, feel free to take sugar.

How often to use salt and sugar scrub

A sugar scrub can be used two to three times a week, and a salt scrub no more than once a week. If it comes to oily, teenage skin, use masks with salt .

I would like to give the top priority to fruit acids for summer scrubs and for oily skin, vegetable oils for winter scrubs and dry skin. I do not recommend lemon and lime; with the most minimal injuries and microcracks, the acids of these fruits will make you suffer… and in the company of salt it will be an unforgettable procedure….
